Just wondering with chipping an s3, that on the APR page it says that it is for the 157Kw s3. Is this referring to the 2002 model? So if someone bought a 2000-2001 s3 it wouldn't be able to be chipped by APR? Just that at present the 2000-2001 s3's are slightly cheaper but down slightly in the suspension and power stakes however to get a 2002+ model comes at a price premium. So it would seem possible to go a 2000-2001 then chip and get suspension and still end up with a pretty good vehicle (if a stock 2k-2k1 wasn't fast enough for you already). :?

Did it.

Just as good in 2001 model.

No difference on the road.

Is the chip just a piggy back computer to make the air and fuel curve more agressive? My mate has an S3 with an Ottelinger chip and wheels ect, it goes really nice. 250hp i think it has..

Model dependant, it is either a replacement chip original removed) or the existing chip "reflashed".

Both give the same output, about 195kw (270 hp).
