Can I offer some constructive critisim without getting my head torn off? :)
nope :P
but fire away ;-)
Ok, meaning this to try and help make the club interesting.. Don't take it the wrong way ok :)
The Events calender is really whats going to make the club in my eyes, its whats going to bring in the members. At present, it seems very light on events considering this is the rebirth of the club.
May I suggest you try and include things like, mystery breakfast runs, detailing days (not nights where nothing is done, proper do it yourself stuff with other audi guys), Movie marathons, drinks nights (ie no cars, just at a nice pub), drive days, kart night/days, Eastern Creek drag nights, Golf Tournaments, Wakefield Club days (racing), Driver Education nights, PaintBall, Wine Tasting in the Hunter & drive day and the list goes on and on? I'll think of some more but the club really needs to do its best to make it interesting. As a potential member, it looks rather 'dull' (sorry!)
I know these things are difficult to organise and require time and money, but most Audi owners aren't shy on some money and I'm sure if organsied correctly with plenty of time in advance you'll see people starting to turn up. Look at the Porsche , BMW and similar car clubs for some ideas for events. Personally, sitting hearing about Audi talk about DSG for 3hrs makes for a dull night
Hope thats some help, dont flame me :) I just want to see the club excel
like you said it is a lot of effort to organise these events and don't get me wrong we do plan on running these sorts of things in the future, but the club is in it's infancy at this stage, once we have everything sorted and things settle down we will start to branch out and make these activities happen.
There was a big Hunter Valley lunch / drive / wine tasting / golf event planned for next month, but the organisers have called it off at this stage, too hard to get everyone organised at such short notice.
Like you said, Audi owners aren't all that shy on money usually, so fork out and join up and help the club grow so that we CAN run these types of events.

G'day Kris! Please keep the feedback coming.... it all helps us (the NSW club committee) understand what owners out there want. Per Chux's response, we are trying to be realistic.... the original calendar had 2+ events per month but at the moment there are only a small number of active members. The workload to organise that 10-15 events between now and the end of the year would probably see that number dwindle (and/or the committee being certified)!!!!

Absolutely.... you may have already noticed that we are trying to capture what members are interested in doing (on the membership form) and ideas are welcomed through ozaudi and direct to the committee also.
A few of the events you propose have not yet been pursued due to technicalities (eg. indemnity insurance coverage for drive / roadcraft / track day events) and we hope that this will be sorted with CAMS affiliation amongst other things. Otherwise it's just a matter of someone enthusiastic having the time and inclination to organise.
All club members are welcomed (and warmly encouraged) to try their hand at organising an event... please contact Chux (as club events dude in the first instance) or myself if you're up to it!
