Courtesy light not working 1999 A4

Hello All
I am having trouble getting the footwell courtesy light working in my 1999 A4. The drivers side one works perfectly, I have changed the globe and tested the working one on passenger side still no go. I actually got my light tester, earthed it and when i put it on the faulty light it glowed which would indicate power is there. Any ideas? Is it an earthing issue? Is it a switch issue as i don't know how the switch even works in the door? Please help.:beat:

I remember reading on these forums somewhere about a weird way the lights work as the passenger footwell light won't come on if only the drivers door is opened and vice versa.I will try to find it and post it up for you.
