I got sick of almost losing my remote control for my garage door all the time, so I decided to mount it properly.

After looking into seeing if I could find and retrofit an Audi Homelink, I gave up when I saw the pricing!

So a $5 part, a bit of soldering, and a bit of drilling and filing later, here tis.

what happens when you need to replace the batteries on the remote?

Missing? what where

You can just drop the panel out, or if you're careful you can just reach up under there and grab it out (its velcroed on)

Admittedly it's Monday morning, but what am I missing?
You do this every time you open or close the garage door? :woah2:

No, thats for replacing the battery.

Pic number 3, bottom rhs corner, that bump is the button. Better than having the remote sliding around in the door thingy.

Looks like MaXius has fitted a button (at the bottom of the trim) that he can push instead of reaching for the remote itself.

Thanks for the clarification. The bump wasn't showing up on the monitor I was viewing.

I actually got it from http://www.allelectronics.com/ in the US, Dick Smith only had really crappy things.

It works well :)

The black button, not the remote. And my bunnings don't sell em (the remotes).. and B&D don't sell em (couldn't even figure out what I was talking about??).. I got mine from some other place.
