since Brendo's Audi hasnt been Zaino'd, its a perfect opportunity to use his car for the product demo
ill get some of the fellas on the alfa forum interested, as well as other mates
should be good, but where can we host it???
[EDIT]
Just been speaking to a few friends, everyones interested, especially if they can buy the products on the day and possibly score some kind of discount. I can gaurantee around 10-15 cars from my end.
But with uni exams starting soon, id encourage we organise it mid Novmeber and possibly a Sunday

Well there are a few lads interested..(see main discussion)
Greg - Hahaha Mexicans.. "El Camino"..... well.. why dont we try and organise something around "your" schedule. Try and turn it into a "Demo" day for us Melbournians. I will try and source some more numbers, if you have flyers or advertisments that you can email me etc.. i can print them out and whack em on some nice looking cars between now and then. just a thought. Hopefully Greg can get some great business and spread the words... Eclipse-Zaino... which i have hearded so many great things about 8)
TPIACE - I agree totally with your post... especially.. my ride as the demo.. heheh 8) ..... Mid to late November would be perfect... gives time for a bit of advertising.. (depending on Gregs schedule)
Would be great if there was a 20-30 car turnout.
And your quest for bying on the day is a perfect idea.
Where to host it?... good question.
Have you been to New Quay at the Docklands before? Cos i have an idea.
Maybe we can meet upthis weekend.. and source the venue which i have in mind.

Brendo we're going to need somewhere with water and electricity power points to connect high pressure hoses, orbitals, etc
I have a factory in mind, a family development in Clifton Hill, tho im not sure if its being occupied atm, ill find out tonite
Greg should have some good ideas as to where to host

New Quay? That huge parking lot on the corner is a good place, tho everyone needs to pay for parking and theres no electricity or water
02-A4-Qttro-Trbo
20-10-2004, 04:34 PM
Actually.... it is going to have to be indoors.. or at least under cover isnt it?.. hrmm... ok.. scrap.. my idea. back to the drawing boad. :x

Yeah in the right area.... but.. directly in front of the towers... the other parcel of land.. they dnt use it as a car park.. cos there is a "hand carwash" there. :D and i dont think they operate on a sunday.. have to find out...
And it is big enough for everyone to park there cars in.
Mighthave to rent the space for a day though.. not sure

Ok let's see. Priorities for the location should be (IMO)
Yes it does have to be indoors or at least undercover. Out of the wind would be best as well.
Access to lots of water doesn't have to be a must because as long as cars are washed before hand we can just use QEW (I'll donate enough for the day), everyone bring their own buckets, if we can have access to enough water to fill each bucket a couple of times and quick detailer for clay bar lubrication if required. I'll see what I can do about getting some cheap but good stuff for the day if I can. No guarantees though.
I think we may be reaching a bit if we expect people to be able to properly polish the cars with orbitals + complete detailing + demo of various products in a single day. It's not impossible but I think maybe a demo of machine polishing is all that can be fit in. I don't want to stop those who really want to do this, I'm just offering my opinion. If you go with this then basic power supply (i.e. a single socket) will be enough.
If possible a location with lots of light.
I think sometime in November will be fine for me.
What does everyone think of having a breakfast BBQ or something. This way we can park the cars undercover so that they cool down properly while we have breakfast and then get to work afterwards.
As far a discounts go I think we can organise something for the day.
You should all also consider how many people/cars you want to be there. While more might be good for me it will mean a dilution of the amount if time I can spend with each person who might have a particular problem, and will make it harder for everyone to complete the job in the time available.
If there are going to be many people then you might want to consider doing this over a couple of days. On Saturday having the product demo day and Sunday the detailing day. This way we make sure everyone gets enough time and attention if they want/need it, and only those who want to have product demos need come on the Saturday.
For those who have started organising this thanks for the invite (02-A4-Qttro-Trbo I'm looking in your direction).
If we have to rent the space then is everyone willing to contribute to make this happen?
How does this all sound?

some good points Greg
I agree that too many cars just wont work, but what i was envisioning was everyone do bring their own supplies and work on their cars themselves while Greg walks around offering tips.
The day would start with a demo on Brendo's car, then some products will be sold, and everyone moves back to their own car to start polishing. Everyone can mingle in between breaks. In fact me and my mates do the same thing at my house, albeit on a smaller scale
I personally will be attacking my seats with the Zaino leather cleaner and conditioner.
BBQ idea sounds good, but i think it may be a little too much to organise. Perhaps we can each bring our own food, or elect someone on the day to do the maccas run
This day does sound like itll be alot of fun, and a good chance to get your ride looking schmick. Bring it on i say :D

I have access to a venue
One of our factories in Clifton Hill, corner Hoddle St and Queens Parade is avaliable. There is driveway access at the back, under cover, plenty of lights and electricity. All i ask is a small gold coin donation from everyone that attends, to cover any cleaning/electricity/water charges..........sound good???

Hey Guys... it looks as though this is very close to happening. Great.
Greg - Like i said bud... we will work around you. Your post was spot on. For the numbers.. i completely understand what your saying.. initially i was looking more along the lines of more of a "product selling" day for you.. (to make the trip down to Mehiko..worth your while)..but it sounds like your a peoples man.. with one main objective.. and that is your passion towards a clean automobile. much respect here.
Like TPIACE said.. a BBQ may be a little hard to organise... but a great idea anyhow. Maybe if there is only a few numbers.. we can get a "mini bbq / gas cooker going with some bacon & eggs??
So.. The saturday and the sunday would be ideal... but....not sure if peeps would want to attend both days.. i would...but thats me...so.....i still think the sunday would be the go... something like this perhaps...
8-830am Arrive / Mingle
830-930 Breaky Eggs-bacon?? / Mingle
930-1100 Demo (not sure how long it will take....see Greg)
1100-1130 Product Purchasing
After the Purchasing.. People can either Bail.. or.. hang around to begin Washing Polishing etc.. with Greg Supervising
1130-1200 Prepare cars for Cleaining
1200-1230 Lunch.. Snags & Bread??
1230-Close Attending our cars
What you think guys?.. can we make this work?
Im in for just a purchase and a product demo if we cant organise it properly.
TPIACE - By your posts you sound very commited to the cause.. excellent.. And as for you saving the day with your location.. thats just trumps!!.. a small cover charge for everyone attending.. is a small price to pay i think.. and i think the gold coin donation should possibly be above the $5 mark and closer to $10. Then we can organise a small gas burner.. and we can make it BYO Eggs, bacon, snags etc.. whatever people want to eat.
As it seems it is goin to be a smaller tight-knit group, we shouldnt have any fuss in asking for these small self-donations, so to speak.
Lets Do it

Sounds good guys.
How does the weekend of the 20/21st November sound to everyone?
As for product demo. That can take as little as a couple of hours if we just talk about it or a whole day (like the first Sydney one did) if we use each type of product on the bonnet only of a car each plus other little demos etc.
It's up to you guys on what you want to do.
If we end up needing/wanting more people (although it sounds like we may have enough) I can post this on GCCV if required.
Greg
02-A4-Qttro-Trbo
21-10-2004, 10:41 AM
Those Dates sound just peachy to me Greg.
I think a Briefing and a few quick Demos on a Bonnet would be quite adequate. 2-3 hrs of Demo/briefing would be plenty.. all depending on what kind of show you want to run.
May be a good idea with posting it on GCCV. Could really be a great opporunity to get your goods out there!!
Before you post it... maybe TPIACE and myself should have a Rendevous, and go and have a look at the location, to see just how many we can comfortably accomodate. Then we can work out numbers and if we need to do a lil bit more promotion.
How many numbers would make your trip worth your while Greg??
Banking on, that say..... 60% of those attending, make a purchase.
Brendo
TPIACE
21-10-2004, 10:53 AM
u can fit up to 100 cars at this location so i wouldnt stress about that dude
as for donations, under $5 is enough for me
i personally would prefer just the single day on a Sunday. I strongly doubt my mates will come both days, i mean they enjoy cleaning their cars, but not that much :?
So we make it the 21st November at 11am (everyone likes sleeping in on Sundays and we've got all day/nite, remember i own the venue :D )
Greg i dont mind u listing this on GCCV, the more the merrier i say

21-10-2004, 11:26 AM
TPIACE - Ok great... plenty of room.... Greg can call the shots on how many he would like then.... then we can get some feed back, and try and work out some numbers... may have to be limited depending on just how many, is too many!
Yep, 11am is good then.. what you think about some snags and bread? or we can just all chip in and get 10 20 100 pizzas delivered!! :D that would be better and easier i reckon?? yes no?
$5 donation.... SOLD
Just the Sunday..... SOLD
All day/night... SOLD

Time: 11am

Bring food and everything ull need to detail ur car if u choose too. There will be a demo given showcasing the Zaino products, and discounts will be offered on detailing products from eclipsedetailing.com.au. Since this is my venue, i will be asking for a gold coin donation (no more than $5) from every car to cover cleaning/water/electricity costs
Its advised that u show up with a washed car as there will be no facilities for hose/sponge washing. U may bring a few bottles of water and a bucket for rinsing chamois', etc
02-A4-Qttro-Trbo
22-10-2004, 09:08 AM
Sam - Thats awesome, great stuff :D .
Ok so, it looks like its a go-go. What numbers were you thinkin? 20?
BBQ, No BBQ? pizzas? or just byo food? have you had much interest from your forum yet?
I reckon we could pull possibly 10 definates inc ourselves from this forum... and there are a few cars in my building which i could leave a note on, and also a few of my mates possibly. Oh.. and some from the GCCV forum...
Brendo
TPIACE
22-10-2004, 12:29 PM
ive got about 10 definites so far
i wouldnt be too keen on a BBQ, coz then i gotta stick around afterwards and clean up all the mess, plus its a bit too much to organise.
theres a maccas about 50m up the road, and all manner of restaurants and caffes in the vicinity, including Mosquitos about 40m up the road. Theres nothing stopping u guys taking a break during the day and getting something to eat
02-A4-Qttro-Trbo
22-10-2004, 12:40 PM
Yeah good call. Ok done. Oh.. and if there does need to be some cleaning etc etc.. i will stay back and give ya a hand no sweat. I have the next day off, and i onl live 10mins away, so im in with helping ya do what ya gotta do. :D
Yeah.. plenty of places to grab a feed there. Mosquitos is great.
So you got 10 definates.. + You and I, say 5 off here, a couple off GCCV and a couple of my mates if i can drag them along (not really car enthusiasts :? ).. so prob 20-25.
So we jut have to confirm with Greg and Lock it in.

It all looks good for me at the moment.
As long as there is a tap to fill buckets up with water, suitable drainage, and power in case we need it, and we should be ok.
Each person should bring a minimum of a bucket (as I don't sell those, a couple would be better). If individuals are intending on purchasing anything they want/need on the day then advising me before hand will be best for them to make sure I reserve what they want. I will be bringing quick a bit of stuff but if say 20 people all want the same thing and I only bring 15 we'll be in trouble.
If they are bringing their own tools then whatever they normally use obviously. If they want to use the QEW I'll be donating for use on the day they should have a good quality wash mitt and chamois (not a cheap sponge and synthetic chamois) as when using minimal amounts of water to wash the car you need good tools to ensure no damage is done.
Also if we have a good location for photos when we are done that would be good. Somewhere that is good for night shots if we are going into the evening.
Greg
02-A4-Qttro-Trbo
22-10-2004, 02:42 PM
Greg - In regards to the Water/drainage and power.. Sam will have to answer that, but i am assuming that all of that will be at our disposal.
Buckets... Done
Location for some photos day/night, shouldnt be a problem... there are some great spots in town, and im sure we can find a couple of decent locations. And i will also keep my eye out in the meantime.
Also.... Products.... now.... i dont really have any products... (that i wont to use from now-on-in) so i will be leaving it in your capable hands to put me together some kind of "Pack" if you like. I know that sounds pretty vague.. but i am very "inept" in terms of car detailing.
I love a clean car, and i am actually quite dissapointed in myself for not treating it as i should be. I need you to kick me in the right direction.
My car is an 02. Silver... um... a couple of surface scratches etc.
If my car could come up like Sams ALFA.. i would be Chuffed!!!
So if you could, put together some kind of "order" for me, and drop me a PM, with what the damage is going to be, that would be much appreciated.
Cheers

For the car to be washed for you, there is magic hands on hoodle street, only 5mins down the road from the venue
If not, the closest manless washbay i can think of is in the city on Spencer St.
