** this is a copy of an open letter sent to CA-NSW members / former members (with minor edits for context) - please join us for a Christmas get together if you can! **

G'day Club Audi NSW members / interested parties,

I trust that your festive season is full of many parties and Christmas spirit. I hope that it is also slowing down a little, as most of us seem to have had a manic 2004.

-- Recent changes to Club Audi NSW committee --

Most of you will be aware that we held our AGM in November and there have been some changes to the club committee. For 2005, the committee are:
Ken Barry - President
Warwick Mann - Vice President
Daniel Norris - Secretary
Ansis Kradzins - Treasurer
Costa Argirellis - Committee
Kevin Lee - Committee
Eric Lu - Committee

2004 was clearly a year of establishment for the club. In 2005, we are looking to solidify the foundations whilst developing a formal program of benefits for our members. Feedback received at the AGM indicated that members are seeking a broader spread of events (catering for both social and enthusiast types) and a program of members benefits (such as discounts on consumables). The committee is working hard to create a club that appeals to a broad demographic and provides useful and attractive benefits.

I would personally appreciate any input you can provide with regards to what you expect of the club - that way, I can influence what we do and ensure that our efforts are focussed on what our members want.

-- Christmas social gathering + seeking your input for our 2005 calendar --

It's been a little while since our last formal meeting. Whilst December is traditionally the "silly season", filled with work, social and family commitments, we are opening our next committee meeting to members, interest parties and their guests as an informal Christmas social gathering.

This gathering will start at 19:00 on Monday 20 December. We will be meeting at Café Gioia restaurant at 126 Norton St, Leichhardt for a meal and festivities. In addition, we will also be tabling our draft 2005 calendar and will be seeking your input into the program of events we have planned.

I hope that you can join us! Please RSVP (reply to this thread) by Sunday 19 December. I realise that this is very short notice - particularly for this time of year - but I also want to give all members the opportunity to have their say for the upcoming year. If you are unable to make this gathering, I urge you to provide your ideas to me via PM.

Kind regards,

Ken

10 and still counting....

BTW, a couple of folks are bringing their significant others. Feel free to come along and bring yours (unless you need a break from the pre-Christmas hysteria!).

Ken,

Sorry I can't make it. I sent my membership form and cheque to a L Findlay at Eastwood a couple of weeks ago.

FWIW It would be nice if CA NSW had at least a couple of sponsored track days next year at either Oran Park or Wakefield, with Audi Australia being involved if possible. They could bring some RS6s, S4s, A8s A3 3.2, TT 3.2 etc. hopefully for us to drive, or at least ride in with somone like Brad Jones etc. Great way to sell cars from their point of view. BMW does this regularly with success.

Also it would be good to be able to get a L2S licence via CA NSW.

Thanks for your reply, Alvin. Yours are good (and popular) ideas, and are on our list of "enthusiast" activities to pursue.

The good news is that CA NSW was CAMS affiliated a few months back by our former Secretary Leigh Finlay... I understand that this means we can be used as an approved reference for Level 2 licence applications by paid-up members.

Hopefully all those papers came across to our new Secretary, Daniel (Chux). Daniel, were these in the big folder of Secretary stuff?

Ken,

Sorry mate, didn't get there tongight. Two reasons, I'm stuffed (like sick, not too much to eat) and didn't get out of work until late..... Would like to have caught up with you guys..... I'll make sure I'm there next time..

(and if you talk to Derek, he'll let you know why I would have turned up in the old man's daewoo, not the audi :beat: )

Of course, it wouldn't be a Club Audi meet without some sort of photo opportunity.... for the cars, not the owners!
