View Full Version : Bilsteins and Eibach springs.....

Hey, just fitted Bilsteins shocks allround with Eibach springs and it has completely transformed the rolly-polly handling on the 2.0 Slow :D Amazing the difference good suspension makes isn't it :D It's now enjoyable to drive around corners without getting sea sick 8)

hate to have to ask this but aren't the stock shocks bilsteins?...
i've got lowered eibach springs too, find them a little too low..

everyday at work i scrape the sump guard, till one day...it came off...
mmm.....

I anticipate the next service to be expensive because i'll have to get that fixed.

No the stock shocks are definitely not Bilstein on the 2.0 Sport. They are VAG stamped and I think made in Czech republic IIRC. The problem with just fitting Eibach springs is as you describe. The standard shocks are too long and soft to cope with the lowered spring. That's why on the Mark 4 you really should do the shocks too. It IS worth it.
