Hi All,

I'm a bit surprised that our dealer is telling us that we only get one electronic key and one emergency key with our A1.

This seems very surprising to me.

Adding insult to injury ... they're estimating $400+ for an additional key.

I'd really appreciate comment on this from other A1 owners.

Thanks,

Kev.

CRAP eh!

Seems you don't get much for your $50K these days.

... my wife is an absolute shocker with keys too.

You only get two keys if you get the advanced key function.

What a surprise. More price gouging by a euro car maker on a price leader.

My wife just picked up her A1 Sports yesterday. Extra key was about $50 (when ordering the car). But to get the Push button start and confort key entry it was about an extra $500.
Sad that you pay all this extra when paying $50K+ for a new little car. It should be standard.

My wife got the extra key and key less function for zip. Just negotiated it as part of the purchase. My only grip is hat moving from my A5 to the A1 the start buttons are not in the same location.

Yep - I was told that because it's the smallest in the range, they only get 1 proper key.
Also been told only models from A4 and up get it
i.e. A3 doesnt... can anyone else confirm?

If you think the price of another electronic key is bad, try just getting another standard non electronic spare key. From memory it was well over $100.

I'm pretty sure I replied before seems my post was deleted????

I have an A3 8v and it does have 2 full electronic keys. But again I have comfort key so it may be because of that...
And if you think $400-500 is expensive - I read that Toyota transponder key costs $850 to replace - and Toyota is not even premium brand....

Now don't go deleting my post again - it's ON TOPIC!

My A1 came with two keys standard?

You should get two keys with remote, one without remote, one valet key and a plastic emergency key. I think that's pretty std with all audi's.

Not when it comes to the A1 - only one remote key and one valet key.

Buy a Golf instead, at least VW give you ALL your keys.

Very interesting!

Sounds like Audi may have changed their position since the A1 was first introduced as this definitely did not used to be the case.

Thanks for letting us know - good info.
