I'm looking at putting some new tyres on my TT and was wondering if anyone has used anything else besides the Pirelli P6000. I was possibly looking at using a tyre that wasn't as noisy due to all the country driving that I do. Thanks

An OE tyre for the 16" wheels on the B6 Audi A4 was the Bridgestone Potenza RE040. I was surprised at how much grip these tyres had and they were a relatively quiet tyre. Downside is the cost as they aren't a common tyre.

What sort of budget are you looking at?

My MY03 TT 132kw came with Michelin Pilot Primacy's. They were actually pretty good. Having had them on a 3.0 A4, I wasn't impressed, but on the TT they were very good. I think these can be had at a reasonable price (low 300s from memory).
You might try Pirelli P-Zero Rosso's, I have these on my MY2004 A4 1.8T and they are the best tyre's I've had, on 4 Audis (and 6 sets of tyres).

I would totally agree. My 9-3 Aero came standard with Pirelli P-Zero Rosso's and they are great. Feedback from other drivers indicate wear isn't the best and they aren't the quietest tyres on country roads.
Pirelli Pzero Nero on my S3, happy with them performance wise but they do become quite firm after a while..

Thanks for the help. Will have a look around. Might go to my Audi dealership and see what they say. Was looking at spending around $300 per tyre

Check out tirerack.com and decide from there. It really depends on how u drive and what you from ur tyres.
I put Bridgestone S03 on my TT and loved it...because I wanted better steering response. Hence, the GSD3 didn't suit me. They've also lasted me 30,000kms +...which is better then I expected.
Also, the Michelin Pilot Preceda are brilliant. Replaced the Potenza RE040 on my dad's car with them, and I must say they are much better and (wait for it) cheaper

For that price you will easily get some Falken ST115's. That's how much I paid for 18's. They are a great value performance road tyre. I have had them on both my S2 and my Liberty B4. On both cars they have been excellent in wet and dry and cornering, very predictable and progressive on the limit and great wear rating. Only downside is they are definitely not a track tyre as the outside shoulder tears away very quickly after some very hot laps at Wakefield Park. :P
HTH
Cheers
