You would think there would be a much more higher demand for auto transmissions

If you send a request to them, via their email, maybe they can give you some advice.
I think I saw something related to Automatic gearboxes in the video. As I recall, it was about cleanliness.
If you get good info on your specific auto transmission, start a new topic, as the 01A thread may get swamped.

Act of generosity by JHM and no doubt appreciated by those with itchy fingers although the $20 for the DVD is peanuts compared with the Thousand plus for the parts and oil. Manual boxes have a great deal of detail differences between models, without even considering the range of auto boxes. Not many home workshops could manage an auto box repair.

The 01E requires some significantly expensive special tools once you reach a point in the strip down plus genuine technical knowledge to assess the material condition of internal components. If you are a weekend warrior then by all means have a crack but be prepared to call in the big guns if it doesn't turn out right. Even the simple act of linkage adjustment is a bit hit and miss and to make it more confusing the mechanism changed mid life.
