    My A6 with the 3.2L cam chain carked it a while back. Give me a cam belt at the front of an engine that gets changed every so often anytime.

    Hey James

    Thanks very much for pointing out that thread. I have had a look at it and it is very interesting. I wish i could find one that i trust. Everyone that i show the car to seems to get a worried look on their face....and we are talking just looking at the outside of the car! I think that i mentioned that i took it down to Sydney to Autohaus Strecker. At least they seemed to have cars of the same vintage in their workshop.
    I have to make a decision soon though as the timing belt job is really overdue and the coolant concentration will be less than it was!
