It'll be interesting to see how far we can push this. They offer lowball values and you reject them. In the meantime they're putting the airbag...

If the bit that died was replaceable, and even if it's $100 then the argument that it lasted 10 years would be pretty fair. While $100 may seem...

Now that the B5 is going to get more rare, I'm feeling inclined to restore mine to its former glory. For a 300k car, the body has very minor nicks...

Just had a look on EPC, a 99 B5 uses 8D9827023R, T or AA. A 97 B5 uses 8D9827023B or D. I know on a sedan the lock button is different between the...

Can somebody please educate me on the benefits of a $633 LED tailgate light unit vs a $1 light bulb?

Totally agree. My 95 Hilux doesn't have an airbag and being a Hilux, will probably last forever. A mate has a newer Hilux (maybe 2000?) and it had...

That's what's annoying about the whole thing - there's this impression of Audi being a responsible company and taking care of its customers when...

    Hey James

Thanks very much for pointing out that thread. I have had a look at it and it is very interesting. I wish i could find one that i trust. Everyone that i show the car to seems to get a worried look on their face....and we are talking just looking at the outside of the car! I think that i mentioned that i took it down to Sydney to Autohaus Strecker. At least they seemed to have cars of the same vintage in their workshop.
I have to make a decision soon though as the timing belt job is really overdue and the coolant concentration will be less than it was!

    Regards

    Paul
