Does that tool program the car or the keys? My understanding of Audi transponder technology says the car must be programmed to the key, and that should be more difficult than simply plugging a module in!

Believe it or not, this device plugged in my Audi and programmed a new key for 40 seconds, then started the engine

Of course I am previously shut down car protection

This is very concerning. Assuming can pick the locks then it basically allows a very quick get away. Assuming you don't need an existing key in with power to program

Crazy stuff! Clearly there is a flaw/weakness in the vehicle's security to enable that to happen on a new RS4.

Hopefully Audi close the loop on it as that is not good for owners and their insurance premiums.

Yes, i would say that it's very similar to the flaw that BMW had with keyless entry. They did a software update to try and resolve some of the issues.

Maybe ask Audi AU what the status is on these security issues?

I think any keyless entry car would be able to be stolen like that.

So... Is this only for keyless entry cars that are at risk using the OBD key cloning?

Just came across this news article too from January. 11 Audi's targeted at once. All had their service books stolen:

Where do they take these cars to sell them? Put em on containers to Asia?
