    I reckon it's worth creating a new post for noob's for each model type.

    ie..

    A4 B6
    Timing belt change at xkm's or x years

    A4 B5
    Timing belt change at
    DIS problems - can be fixedby
    Engine mounts - should be changed at x


    you get the idea...

    Add suggestions to this thread and I'll collate...or post the link to something that's been said before, is useful, and I'll also collate...

    TT 8N (MK1 1999-2006)

    Timing Belt (~$1000+)
    -No later than 90,000km (5 years?)

    Water Pump
    -Check that this has been changed at the same time as the Timing Belt

    Common Problems
    -Corrosion/Rust ($...)
    *Behind rear quarter panel windows
    *In roof rack mounts
    -DIS/Dashpod (~$1800)
    *Flickering/Dial Reset on coldstart
    *Dials reading incorrectly, particuarly fuel gauge
    *DIS LCD fade/incorrect display
    -Door microswitch (~$350) - check that door open symbol is displayed on DIS (driver/passenger)
    -Clutch Pedal (~$...) - No check, they just break.

    yes. all models pls! B6 2.4L V6 in particular. it's so hard to find information on this car

    hey scott thanks for the useful info dude..

    just got a 99 audi tt front wheel drive.. love it..

    any advice as to first mod to do - im looking for nice induction/spool noise.. so perhaps intake system? any in particular? or DV valve? hmm...

    New Member from Longview, Texas en Los Estados Unidos. I need to fullfill my noob quote to get full benifit of knowledge here on this board. Own a 2010 TTS w/ S tronic. Will want to mod to enhance performence. Thanks for the opportunity. Regards to all.

    yes that would be a great help.... i want to find out more about timing belt cost etc :)
