    No need.

    You can buy adapters/interfaces for these HUs that plug into the back of the HU where the CD changer plugs into. Do a search in the ICE area of the forums, you will find lots of hits.

    There is a tech article in Audiworld showing one solution which imo is a bit crude but works all the same. But more importantly, it explains why you can't just shove the audio signal into the HU.

    Best approach is to get something like a GROM adaptor, XCarlink, Dension Icelink, DICE, Harman Kardon adaptor or the like. Plugs into the back of the HU in place of the CD stacker.

    Thanks everyone for their help! I will probably be posting a thread soon in the ICE forum asking if they can recommend an audio guy, I think I'll just pay to get someone to replace the firmware on the microcontroller to write to RAM + install an iPod adapter. Saves me dicking it up and having to pay them later anyway.
