Default N80 Purge Valve in MK4 Golf

    Hey Folks,

My wife's Golf has been driving funny lately, hesitating and intermitant loss of power, so I shoved my VAG-COM in and it reported:
    VIN: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Mileage: 113790km/70705miles
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Address 01: Engine Labels: 06A-906-018-AQY.lbl
    Part No: 06A 906 018 GP
    Component: 2.0l R4/2V MOTR HS V01
    Coding: 00031
    Shop #: WSC 30079
    VCID: 76E9D64952976BA80B9

    2 Faults Found:
    16518 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor B1 S1
    P0134 - 35-00 - No Activity
    17834 - EVAP Purge Valve (N80)
    P1426 - 35-00 - Open Circuit

So I cleared them both, went for a drive, came back and the 17834 was still there. Described as an open circut sounds like its not plugged in ?

I went fishing to find the sensor, but alas, I have no idea where it is. It's a 2004 MK4 golf with the 2.0l engine. Does anyone know where it is ?

Can anyone point me in the right direction ?

I poped the airbox out and had a dig around, but couldnt see it anywhere. I then googled around and found lots of pictures for VR6's and other engines, but nothing for this. Any tips would be appreciated.

It's the valve that sits on your charcoal canister, over near your washer bottle.
