Default New Audi owner and I jumped in with both feet!

G'day everyone, let me introduce myself! my name is Damian and I've only recently bought bought my first Euro car in the form of a c5 allroad in October and only last week I bought a 05 A3 for my partner, I have swiftly been impressed with the build quality and general feel of both of these cars, I joined OzAudi so I can surround myself with like minded people who also enjoy these beautiful cars and can help with any questions I may have as I know next to nothing about them at this stage I do have some plans for the allroad with regards to look and performance some starting next week so I'd also like to show you my progress and get feedback on how things are going with it!

I hope I can meet some great people and have some passionate car talk soon! and I also hope I can bring some interesting perspectives to how I do up my new toy

    hope to chat soon!

Welcome to the forum Damo and congrats on the purchase of your Audis.

Which engine variants did you buy of the allroad and the A3?

Also, whereabouts are you based? FYI you can add your location to your profile should you wish to.

Thanks Alister, I'm in Tasmania and I got the allroad with the 2.7t 6cyl and the A3 2.0FSI both go nicely (allroad goes nicer though! ) the A3 is going in to get the check up so it can be changed from Victoria rego to Tassie tomorrow which is good as the coolant light popped up today!

Oh yes, I can agree whole heartedly with you! some of Tassies roads are simply a car enthusiasts wet dream! especially if you follow some of the roads used in the Targa Tasmania Rally and/or the winding roads along the east coast or near Burnie! just open the sunroof get your leather comfy and listen to the growl as you hug the tarmac in pure luxury!.... Ahhhhhh can't wait to get some time off to do it

Question for those that have been around here for a while? in another (totally unrelated ) forum I have sort of a project blog and i'd like to start one for my Allroad to show my progress and keep track of how she builds over time, is this acceptable and what forum would I be able to host the thread in? i'd like to post pics and get some feedback and info as we go! it's mostly aesthetics but I'll be considering some basic performance mods down the line.

    thanks guys!

Not only acceptable, but encouraged - just create a new thread in the "Members' Rides" section.

Excellent! thanks Alister I will be able to do a new thread showing 'Helga' when i got her and how she looks at the end of next week, I've been saving to get work done and finally I have been able to start the process! 20% tint, full 3inch exhaust inc dp's, new dv's, colour coding the bumpers/fender flares, 19 inch xxr rims et15, and some interior work to neaten her up are all on the cards! so far it's tint done, and Friday she's going in for the pipes and exhausr and dv's, then monday sees the bodyworks trip, I'm not far off getting the rims so they're also only a few eeks away hopefully sooner, i'm very excited to see what a Euro 2.7t engine sounds like with a decent exhaust set up? hopefully throaty and powerful and not too 'ricey'

Tassie! My Canadian wife and I plan to drive the new Audi to Tassie, well, boat and drive anyway. I have never been. Doh! I am thinking of putting my Harley in the boat for a Tassie adventure to. I've ridden in zero temp so I think I can handle whatever Tassie can throw at me.
