How to: Update Maps in MMI

I can get 2016/17 maps but have to pay for 17/18.

What happens if I had a vin for a 17/18 could I access those maps? Or is the vin encoded into the package?

Also when will they crack the MMI so I can use carplay / siri not the crap Audi is offering. usless junk.

Just trying this now. Will give you updates.
The 1st thing I noticed was the size. It wasn’t 750mb it’s 1.4gb.

Actually I have. Question, will the same maps file work for my RS3 2016 than to my SQ5 2013? Both obviously MMI.

I just updated mine couple wks back with 2018 maps, it was about 750mb..

All good with my RS3. Went very smooth. The download took the longest obviously.
i had a problem with my SQ5. The actual screen pre-download won’t show up for some reason.

The maps for an 8V A3/S3/RS3 are not compatible with the 8R SQ5.

i can see the update page for my RS3 but not my SQ5.

They can't be downloaded from the myAudi website for the 8R SQ5.

The maps are only available for 3 yrs from purchase of the car, how old is the SQ5?
