Thread: H&R Springs?

  1. Default H&R Springs?

    Hi,

Has anyone installed H&R sport springs 40mm lower on a Audi A6 4F/C6?

How did it change the ride quality?

    Thanks.

40mm? I think thatís a given it would dramatically impact ride quality. Does that model A6 have any form of adaptive dampers? If so then you would likely render them useless...

no adaptive dampers. It sits 85-90mm above the tyre now. Its like a tractor.

not an A6, but I got HR springs for my skoda superb, think it's the same platform. mine was 30mm. ride quality is firmer, for sure, but it's great. it was super comfy and pillowy on stock springs. would def recommend it

i was in a S3 (8V) all day yesterday with H&R springs and the ride quality and creaks/noises it made, made me thankful i went with MSS adjustable springs - world of difference..

Could be much more than the springs. I have H&R Sports (and have done for nearly 3 years) and itís a firm but compliant ride quality; and certainly no noises/creaking...

    Do you have magnetic ride?

This was a loan car from my mechanic so quietly confident everything mechanically was well.

Only creaked when i went up/down driveways.

Yes, MRC and set to AUTO as this appears to respond better than selecting either DYNAMIC or COMFORT.
Mine does not creak up or down a driveway, speed hump or other road based undulation.

    Interested in this topic also.

another option to consider would be going for coilovers with adjustable dampening - in case ride is too firm. ST seem to make something for this model. A bit more coin though...

interesting. i wonder though, even at the softest setting, would coilovers still be harsher than the stock shocks set up?
