    Default Expected Service Cost S3 8V at 4 yeas / 50,000ks

    Hi All,

So after four years my free servicing honeymoon is over and now due for my first paid service. I have contacted both the local Audi dealer (has serviced my car to date) and a local Audi specialist shop (Autotech, Mona Vale) for quotes and have been provided $900 by Audi and upt to $1300 by Autotech. My three prior cars have been BMWs and I never got stick shock with servicing costs to these levels so reaching out to determine what is the expected norm. At this stage considering using the guys I always used for my BMWs at Brookvale (Bromspec) as they were always honest and did quality work but they are BMW specialists.

interested in hearing the feedback as I am sure there are a lot of us 8V owners now at this stage of servicing.

    Thanks

    David

what's required for that service as per the maintenance schedule?

4 years you are looking at the 60,000km service which is a fairly major service. I paid $1,195 capped price at Audi Brighton for my 60K service last year. Apart from the usual engine oil and filter, they also replaced pollen filter, remote batteries, spark plugs, air cleaner, DSG oil and filter, flushed brake fluid and did the Haldex service.

I was just quoted $1330 by an independent euro specialist in Brisbane and $2350 from Audi centre Indooroopilly for this service. I was very surprised with the difference in price. It sounds like even the independent euro specialist price is a little high also. Maybe I should shop around a little more.

Does anyone know if there will be price difference between Audi dealers in the same state?

    Thanks

guessing this service includes a dsg service also? if so that's probably half the cost and about the going rate as far as I am aware...

if it doesn't include the dsg it sounds like a ridiculous high price to me...

DSG service kit with the correct oil is around $150 but understand it can be a bit fiddly to get to the filter etc. If Audi is quoting $900 then it would seem reasonable that an independent should be quoting under that. I stopped going to EA because their charges were going up and I didn't like that you couldn't supply your own parts without a "BYO charge" which rendered supplying your own well researched prices on parts worthless.

My S3 60,000km service (last year) was quoted at $2,300 by Audi Service Centre Zetland in Sydney and Hills Eurohaus was $1,400 for the exact same service.
This included plugs, air filter, DSG etc as required at this interval.

I had already performed the plug change and air filter so the service ended up costing me $950...
