Thread: mechatronic repair kit part number

  1. Default mechatronic repair kit part number

    Hi All,

Finally I've decided to fix the mechatronic unit for my 2013 Q5 3.0TDI by myself.

The car still driveable and the only issue is occasionally losing torque when reversing especially reversing uphill.

The main part is Audi mechatronic repair kit. I got a quote from dealer and the price is nearly $1100 but I found the same part from ebay only cost under $600 including shipping.

    Here is the question:

The dealer part number is 0b5398009F
The ebay saler part number is 0b5398009E

As you can see the difference between these two is the last letter which is a revision number.

Does anyone know that is there much difference between the actual parts? Apparently dealer has the latest version of this part but is it worth to pay $400+ more for it?
Can some give me some suggestion?
    Thanks a lot.

I would be leaning on Audi for some goodwill support if the car is < 4 years old.

Does it have full Audi service history?

Unfortunately no. Car is almost 6 years old and has been serviced somewhere else.

That's why I decided to DIY.

    Sorry that was a typo. It's a 2013 q5
