Thread: '16 RS3 Service.

  1. #1

    Default '16 RS3 Service.

Wifey's '16 RS3 had its 2 yr service yesterday at Barry Bourke.
All good, except both front tires require replacement, would have liked a bit more than 20ks out of 'em! Anyway Dealer will probably have 'em in stock by around the end of the week, at which time they'll fit 'em & do an alignment.
    Very happy with the service.

Dealers can at times be a bit trigger happy when it comes to telling you brakes and tyres need doing. I’d be giving them a visual check before authorising the work personally.

    Hey 'Pickles'.....
    How's the HSV mate?

It's funny you've brought this up!
I too had my service (60k) on the RS3.
My dealer called me and said that i needed a new front tyre to my disbelief......!
    I'm now glad he did...
    Check out the wear.
Pity because there's heaps of tread left.
They had the tyres in stock but I wasn't prepared to pay $500ea when I can get them for $380ea....

Yep, that one is certainly done!

Has that been put down to a vehicle-specific alignment issue or something to do with the RS3’s suspension geometry more generally? How do the camber numbers look post an alignment? Is there much in the way of adjustment available?

Yes, that's how the inner front looked,...I was pretty shocked!! Brakes?...probably 5-7ks left on them.
    GTSR is pretty good!

    Well............
Audi didn't really say much as to why.
The tyre shop said it could be that I've ran low tyre pressures ..... (not the case - I run 39-40 psi).
So after I've put them on I had heasmans do the wheel alignment... and must admit that i have hit a massive pothole a few months prior.
Dougie (Heasmans) has me booked in again for tomorrow so he can modify the lower control arms for geometry reasons.
There are after market lower arms available but apparently these are noisy etc etc.
    Let's see how she goes....

    Hi mate...
Mine was only the inner front driver's side.
    The left was perfect!

Good to hear about your GTSR...... Awesome car.
I kinda miss my VF Senator SV......

Do you mind sharing the cost of the 60k at the dealer?
