Thread: Programming used key

    Default Programming used key

So I Purchased an A6 last year and have had a spare key that isn't registered to the cars MMI. I finally found the time to take it to Audi and they said it has been linked to a Q5, so it is virtually rubbish.
Most of my research says this is correct, although I did find someone saying the key can be cleared (flashed) and it can then be uploaded to my car. Unfortunately, the only place I can find that does it is in the USA. I was wondering if anyone knows of anyone local? I called a few locksmiths, they all just want to sell me a new key!
Fun fact, the key in the FOB is the correct cut.

While on the topic, can it be done through VCDS? I read somewhere that it can, though its complicated?
