Ceramic coating

Has anyone tried doing a ceramic coating on their cars themselves?
Is it easy? worth trying?
Or should I just pay the pros to do their thing?

I did one on my daughters old Hyundai...

Was 'ok' on most panels, but I stuffed it up a bit on the drivers side.... I've still not had the time to 'resolve' my stuff up, which will including multiple passes at trying to buff of ...

Problem was that I didn't put the coverage on even, so you can see where it is, and where it isn't
