My nephew changed his MMI screen because of a crack, don't ask, and the new 2nd hand screen does not light up. When turned on it comes up with AUDI MMI screen then says, 'please wait' and then goes blank. Does the screen need to be coded to this vehicle, if so how, or could it be a bad connection or just another faulty screen? Any help/advice would be appreciated.

I believe it is. It does light up momentarily but then goes off. Thanks for reply.
Thank you for reply. I'll check it out. AUDI Central Coast want $231 to plug in a scanner. Might have to go that way if all else fails. Thanks again.
Hi,
Apparently it is the CD changer. Is it possible to loop around the CD changer? When they did the loop check the screen lit up as normal. Or is it possible to recode a 2nd hand complete MMI from another Q5?
Regards

It looks like it might have component protection on some of the main parts (not the screen).

I like it! Where would I find this connector? AUDI wanted nothing to do with bypassing the CD changer.
