SQ5 TFSI catalytic converter longevity

Hi MY17 55k SQ5 TFSI emission warning light so assuming the cat is stuffed.

Is this an expected life span of the cat ?

5 year manufacturer warranty, consumable or warranty issue ?

I would expect that the issue should be resolved free of charge under warranty.

Suggest looking at Morrie's saga with the DPF on the SQ5 - well reported on this forum.
If you are running any form of inline performance 'chip' like the acclaimed DTUK tuning box, the onset of this this situation will be exacerbated.

I've read Morrie's saga which is part of the reason for my original scepticism.

First ? this morning was " is the car still fleet with MAXXIA" which I took for code as "you're going to get a bill"

Car is unmodified engine wise and 4 years almost to the day into it's 5 year warranty.

SHouldn't take luck but it will.
Suggest looking at Morrie's saga with the DPF on the SQ5 - well reported on this forum.

So good news to close this thread out,

Problem was actually a failed thermostat which from talking to the service manager at Audi Newcastle is quite a big job, his words "front of the car has to come off ".

Thankfully, covered by the extended warranty and full credit to AN they worked through until 1545 this afternoon to get the car back to me.
