My Audi S1 (3rd Adventure)

So Iv had my S1 for a some time now and though I’d make a build thread to everything in case people are interested
Picked it up fairly cheep low $30’s with kinder 50,000kms on the clock. considering its in yellow with all the trim options, I consider it an absolute bargain considering the rarity of it.













The owner was kinda honest but there where a few things Iv noticed that he either held from me or he was just completely unaware of it. Being the front left Balljoint was completely shot and in desperate need of replacement. However, considering how bad this car was handling, its hard to believe he had no Idear that something was wrong.
But replacement balljoint and a 1 hour long wheel ailment fixed it all up. As you can see it was fairly out.




But All done and its handing so much better. But there are a few little clunks going on somewhere in the front that I’m still investigating.
Got a suspicion this car has been in a bit of a light accident, but so far I cant see any structural damage or any repairs on the frame. But the front bumper has been resprayed and looks like there has been some damage and bodgy repair work dont on the right side of the bumper where it looks kinda distorted, so I’m probably up for a new bumper.

Mean time I just fitted a new R8 style gear knob and planning on installing some Porsche Boxer calipers in some time.

yeah the car seems to be well maintained, steering wheel leather and seat are in good state!
regard the toe, I confirm right wheel did receive some knock! It may be a big pothole or a light accident, but if you noticed the new paint, conclusions are easy!
big potholes often leave a sign on the tyre but is not a reliable proof..

Nice one mate. I spent the weekend doing some paint correction on the S3... made a huge difference to the car.

Yeh there’s no brake fade as much as I would get from the floating calipers

Either way looks like good size brakes for a relatively lightweight little S1.

Nah, Its mostly for aesthetics.
This car is mostly going to be a collector for me really. So just over servicing and pampering lol

yeah, that's how my S3 is turning out. Was intended for the track, but haven't been yet. BUT, have replaced various parts so that it looks good again...

I just think these are a future classic and needs to be well looked after.
I don’t see Audi doing anything like this ever again.
It was a very rare thing for them to do and is why I like it. Its a rare car. Especially in this colour scheme.
The wife loves it though so thats all that matters lol
