Yeh like they had Optus by the balls, they could of asked for way more lol
It gets even more interesting when ya see the demand letter they wrote to them.
I believe it was an inside job and Optus already knows who did it but they probably cant speculate being that this probably goes deeper.
I think this person just wanted to make a point.
In all, its definitely a huge breach of metadata and I think its shown that keeping so much personal information in one point is just dangerous.

I wonder what information they could have that isn't already out there.

I'm an optus customer and have been for 20 years. Sure, I pay with credit card, but from what I've heard, they use 3rd party and encrypt, so that info 'hopefully' is safe...

They have my email address, account number, and address (and phone number), but anybody with a bit of pc skill can probably find that information about me very easily (including my birthday!).

I think it goes deeper than that.
I believe information such as current previous addresses, Medicare numbers, drivers license numbers, bank numbers, passport numbers and so on. Pretty much things that you give to them for proof of ID with the whole point system was breached. They keep all that on record. All of this can be used to completely steal your identity.
    Its pretty bad lol

The debated now is should stage governments be paying for new pass ports or should Optus be flipping the bill

You mean all the times he built a rocket with a paperclip or repaired a satellite with chewing gum weren't real???? And all this time I thought it was just me.

Either that or Audis are so overly complex that it's beyond even MacGyver.
