Hi guys,
So last weekend the oil pump failed in my A4 2.0TFSI Quattro and although I switched the engine off immediately and think I’ve avoided engine damage I don’t think the car is worth spending any money on repairs given it’s age.
This being the case I’m looking at buying a 2018 A3 2.0TFSI FWD but thought I’d ask if there were any common problems others have found to be aware of? Apparently the oil pumps in my current Audi were a weak point so that may explain the sudden failure but I don’t want to be a position of fixing the next car if there are common issues that need to be addressed or avoided all together.
From what I have found via searches there are the following problems:
- Rear centre headrest may become detached in an accident (there was a recall to replace a pin for this)
- Sunroof leaks, not a biggie as no sunroof
- Start/stop can be problematic apparently
Any info from owners out there would be much appreciated.
