2020 RS3 owner's thread

Yup, Graeme is a good bloke. He's seen my last 3 cars. They do good work.
Thanks Joecool,

Went in yesterday to have the green beast assessed. He is a bit gruff, but mellowed over time! I am with GIO who he is not impressed with as they treat every car as it is a Hyundai! The other driver accepted blame and is with RACV, so hopefully they will accept the Mr Gloss quote. Never had any problems with GIO in the past, but will see!

Enjoy the weekend guys!

Hi guys, my car was damaged in the car park at work, someone backing out in a 4WD scraped the drivers rear panel and alloy. The GIO recommended repairer is Capital SMART in Bentleigh, I think I can nominate the repairer, who is recommended Bayside?
Avoid Capital SMART like the plague - substandard work and will take any shortcut they can.

As recommended by others, Mr Gloss is well regarded in Moorabbin.

for the exclusive paint fans, here’s the wife’s new s5 sportback in gomera green pearl

turned out better than I thought

now the hunt for another exclusive colour for the rs6 - was going to go merlin again but variety is the spice of you know the thing

Yep its strange how these were just normal brochure colours pre 2000’s, in fact most of the audi exclusive colours are from old 80s and 90s Audi’s

This gomera green was standard issue on princess Diana’s 80 convertible

The market has since changed and majority want black and white shades, with black interiors

I found this old pic, google some of those colours, they are amazing

But atm I’m leaning towards Zanzibar on an rs6, it’s a Bmw individual colour

Very cool, I’ll def check it out for the s5 as Audi are doing all that crazy valve programming there too, but a bit late on my rs3 as that ownership is coming to an end

Le Sigh! Anyone had experience getting the front grille replaced (how, where etc), I am guessing Audi dealer. Hit, well... destroyed a rabbit on the way home tonight which busted the grille up a bit and dislodged the radar square outer cover thing. At least I got it on dash cam, he bounced a fair way :)

You might want to go through insurance on that one. Those grilles are pretty exxy mate.

Not so easy to find a decent repairer, the insurers "preferred" ones all have chop shop type reviews "extra scratch on door" "did 1/2 a job"... I was recommended Spencer Panels but they seem to be booked up until December+ ... anyone else got a good recommendation ? Thanks! So much hassle for a rabbit smashing the grille :( Apparently if the radar is damaged its big $$.

Thanks for the options, seems like a grille and radar fix at this point, insurance - somewhere in the $7k+ range if radar is done apparently.

Pulled the trigger on some Koya SF10 wheels today in satin black, I think they'll look fairly decent. Will post some pics when the arrive in the coming weeks.

Had it in storage at my warehouse for a bit, got it out to do some rear seats down Christmas shopping - missed those 5 pot noises

I’ve got an F pace SVR arriving in a few months to do the dad wagon thing, keep going back n forth whether to sell the 5 pot, feel like I nailed the spec and it’s almost impossible to replicate it atm with all these new car issues

Hey Domino, nice to see the purple beast again. It is possible these things might be sought after in a few years. There are rumours that the 2022 has a locked ECU, or is problematic to tune. On top of that it has less in common to the previous cars meaning less support/parts etc potentially, i.e. haldex changed, interior looks cheap etc. Obviously the 2018 AU's will probably be the grail cars but the 2020 is holding and exceeding value still now, once 2022 has been and gone and there are only electric alternatives the value might hold up pretty well mid term. If anyone wants a 5 pot banger there won't be many available 2022+ i suspect. If you don't need the dough it might be a keeper :) I'm still happy as hell with mine, the only things I am considering would be catback replacement to get a chunkier tone although I'm not sold on that, and I may look at some carbon accessories (front lip, maybe bonnet etc).
