Hi guys,
after many many many hours searching the internet and talking with quite a few specialised repairers of Audi auto electrics, 0AW transmissions and specialised service centres including Audi themselves all unsuccessfully for answers, I am hoping I might get a breakthrough from someone on here.
Background
I purchased the Audi knowing the previous owners ignored the usual warning "transmission error" you can keep on driving, they then continued to drive until it went into limp mode and restricted gear selection, and unbelievably continued to drive until it went into emergency shutdown. The owners had wiped the DTC's so none were showing when I purchased but knew of the issues related to the CVT.
Since the purchase I have replaced the Dual Mass Flywheel and serviced the transmission and then expected to find the relevant DTC's. No DTC's present and CVT not working. Scanned with VCDS and Launch Elite Pro diagnostics with the only issue being Input/Output Shaft sensor readings = 0 RPM
I then replaced the TCM with a new one that I cloned from the old one and, based on expert information, this should have fixed the problem.
Nothing has changed and no matter who I have discussed, the only response I get is " I cant believe there are no DTC's" followed by bring it in and we will attempt to diagnose. Audi in Perth have already attempted, could not find the reason and quoted me $37,000 (correct amount) to replace the trans. Others have quoted as much as $18.000 to rebuild.
If the Input/Ouput Shaft sensors have failed, there should be a DTC and "implausible signal".
Does anyone have VCDS and can run a self diagnostic on their 2.0lt TDI CVT and send me a copy so I can compaare with the readings from mine?
Apologies the post is a bit long winded
Have a great day
