A8 1999 Sunroof Control Switch

Anyone know where i might be able to get one of these ? I can manually open and close and lights work etc however i suspect the control switch has had it !

Are you sure it's the switch and not the motor?
How are you closing it? Are you using the manual winder?
Have you tried using the key fob (press and hold the lock button within close proximity of the car - should close windows and sunroof).
The drivers door lock should also work - manually hold key in unlock position of lock and all the windows should open (don't think sunroof does)
Hold the key in the lock position and all the windows and sunroof should close.

If this action proves the motor works, then you can buy another switch panel.
If the motor doesn't work, replace it (it's above the switch panel in the roof).

I think you can buy the motors new (4D0959591A) - try FCP Euro or maybe the manufacturer Wabasco (or dealer or ECS Tuning or one of the used resources below...).

If it is a switch you need, you'll probably have to buy the whole panel unless you can affect a repair.
Panel part number 4D0947303E (plus colour suffix, so you'll need to know your colour)
Switch (potentiometer - round bit) part number 4B0959613A (ditto colour suffix).
If you want to buy new, you may still be able to get them. You can try a dealer, but they'll be pricey. I'd see if Easy Square can help you.

Otherwise, if you want to go used try the following:
A8parts.co.uk (also trade as Prestige Motor Parts and have an eBay store)
Wolf Auto Parts *
Shokan *

*both these last two sites are US based and probably don't freight to Australia. You can get around this by using any number of US freight forwarders including Aust Posts Shopmate.
Also, be aware that A8parts can have expensive freight - there are UK freight forwarders too if it's worth your while.

Local wreckers are a waste of time. Although they say they wreck A8's, it's more realistic to say that they'll be willing to wreck one if they ever come across one!
