APR Stage1+ 04.5 S-Line ECU swap?

hi guys,

im just throwing around some ideas atm. been wanting to sell my car for over a year now (although i haven't actively put it on the market) due to various factors - hence my less frequent appearance on ozaudi.com.

anyway, im currently throwing around the idea of selling my APR Stage1 S-Line tune in favour of a stock ECU again. afaik, the process is fairly simple but:

  1. a workshop is required for some basic re-encoding (this and this) as well as the physical swap of the units
  2. it is stage1 for S-Line's and so the purchaser's car needs to be an S-Line too
  3. i'm pretty sure the year needs to match too (mine is a 04.5) but someone may want to reconfirm that - it may only need to be in the same B6 family
because of workshop involvement, this offer is extended to Adelaide/SA members only with work to be done by Andrew at GermanAuto. original invoice will be provided showing which ECU options were installed ($2k+). this is still the price if you want to get APR Stage1+ now.

cost for the swap is negotiable and will include labour costs too.

Can you even do it?

I didnt think you could re-sell direct port flash as its tied to the VIN?
Thas what Dean @ Volkspower (APR) explained it to me...could be BS though.
 
hmm interesting. im going on info from the states. let me check with Guy and Andrew...

doesn't look like any interest so far anyway.
