Hey guys,
Have recently upgraded my front speakers to some Alpine 5.25's that I got off a mate as he ordered the wrong sizing for his car. Turns out one of mine was horribly blown and literally half there.
Regardless gave the rears the same treatment with some 6.5' Alpines that I got recently and the speaker adapters. (Will put links to the adapters and speakers below).
Now I've got the fronts done easily, as these were just a direct "plug and play" which was nice.
The rears as you're all likely aware are not friendly at all, with the self-powered rears. I have the rears running off the factory amp which is around 25w from what I can find?
Regardless, I am looking at an amp for the rear that I can run the rear speakers off, as it seems that I am going to have to run direct wires from the headunit to the rear again? So I may as well get the best performance that I can.
Has anyone here done this, and know how to do it in terms of wiring, if the factory wiring can be used at all? (I am assuming not).
Also does anyone know of any good amp options? I would like to keep it Alpine just so it all matches, was thinking I could have it mounted to the rear deck and visible from the outside, at the same time I have heard that the CD stacker spot is a good hidden spot with some nice power delivery set in place making the job easier.
My headunit is a Sony MEX-BT4050, which I may replace one day. It's quite an old model that was made back in 2011/2012.
Rear Speaker Adapters - SAK1105
Front Speaker Adapters - CT25AU03

Someone told me that I should be looking for a touch over half for each speaker in terms of RMS wattage, but I'm not sure on that?
I found this amp, which looks promising but pricey.
Actually this one looks better, it's also local so I could click and collect and get it for ~$105
The bonus is that it can run both the fronts and rears and then if I decide to get a sub get a mono amp for that which would be more concealable?
Also in terms of wiring, what sort of "kit" should I be looking at to power all this in terms of gauge?
