Dab retro fit

Just putting it out there not sure if many people would have an idea but any input would be great
I got sick of hearing the same old stuff on the radio all talk and ads no music anyway decided to look into the DAB retro fit, after looking at what was needed and checking out prices purchased a DAB module and genuine upgraded aerial board. Carried out fitting which is very basic fit module code to suit fit aerial and run new aerial wiring from point to point presto! Well magic didn’t happen I’m getting no sound at all.
I have checked loop break diagnosis and all optic cables and control modules are ok
I have carried out check of signal strength in hidden menu and all ok all stations are displayed on the screen all functions for DAB working
No faults are evident at all but still no sound.
I have a standard amplifier and I’m wondering if an upgraded Bose amplifier is required?
Very hard to get info on this anywhere would anybody have an idea
Cheers

What car do you have?

What is the part number of the DAB radio that you have fitted?

I assume you have had component protection cleared?

Give Steve a call at Volkstronics.
He is an Audi technician that contracts to them around Sydney.
He may put you on to someone else if your interstate.

He retro fitted genuinne OEM Bose 14 speaker upgrade to my S1 Sportback along with DAB+ and reverse parking sensors and camera in one service over the Christmas period last 2016, at his place in Smithfield, Total $4,500.

He also comes to you depending on the amount of work required.
He came to my place and tuned my VW Caddy Maxi TDI320 4-Motion in 2 hours with some online and phone assistance from technicians in Germany after obtaining the right software.
Better acceleration with diesels.

He's a genius but don't have his number anymore...Sorry.

David.

Gday alister.
A8 d3 2004 the part number I purchased is 4e0910563c
I had a component protection fault on my amp after upgrading software to latest but it never gave me any issue for a few months after I fitted the dab I thought that might be causing issue so I had it cleared at Audi but still no Good.
Funny thing is no component protection fault evident for the dab after installation. I don’t believe dab unit to be faulty as all functions are seen in mmi and optical system has no faults.

Just to add I just purchased a bose amp from the states $150.00 I don’t mind trying this if this may be the cause. Ive spoken to a gentleman on the a8parts forum and he was very helpful in sending me a diagnosis log from his vehicle and the only thing i noticed was channel 47 sound system was a bose compared to mine this is why I’m heading down that path.
I could be wrong

Are you certain that the DAB tuner you have bought (part number 4E0 910 563 C) supports the DAB+ standard that we use in Australia?

Some of the early modules did not.

Didn’t even think of that to be honest. I’ll need to do some research on this and double check
All help is much appreciated

After going through information I believe Alister to be correct with dab+ being the issue makes a lot of sense.
Now I’m going to check for Audi Mmi 2g factory options which I suspect will be no good for the older units so I might need to go down the path of fitting a kufatec or other brand module. Should of asked on au forums earlier all my research was done on overseas forums in England which have only had DAB from early posts well I’ll call it a learning experience at least i didn’t pay big $$$ for the original module to be used as paper weight.
