Does the RS3 8Y have garage door opener functionality?

I’ve been wondering if the 8Y RS3 has the ability to learn a remote to open a garage door? It’s in the manual but says “subject to region”. There are how to videos on youtube but the menu option appears to be missing. Any ideas?

Incidentally of course the garage door opener app does not show in CarPlay!
 
I have garage door control via the Home app in CarPlay. It’s a very cheap Shelly switch IOT accessory integrated with the Apple Home ecosystem
 
I did a fair bit is research on the ability for homelink to work with Audi here in Aus. From what I can tell it does not, though it might with Tesla.

So instead I just installed the Meross smart opener on my centurion/anvanti branded opener. Installation Was relatively straight forward.

I did a fair bit of research before I purchased. It generally seemed like the most popular option out there and it looks like it’s compatible with nearly every door opener brand.

Works with apple HomeKit so I can operate it straight from my CarPlay screen or with Siri which is cool.

Only caveat is that to operate it from outside of your wifi network (say when you’re driving up your driveway) you do need an apple product sitting inside your wifi network to operate as a ‘home hub’. You can use a HomePod or newer Apple TV or an iPad (if the iPad is sitting in the car with you though it won’t work obviously).

As a bit of a tech nerd I am honestly pretty stocked on it and as it operates via my phone, it means that it will never need any kind of transferring across to new cars as they are purchased. As long as the new car has CarPlay.

I got mine on Amazon. Arrived to Brisbane in a week.

What happens if wifi is down? That's always been my concern. I also use rhe merros ugs on various things...

Normal push button buzzer thing still works. I wouldn't recommend leaving the house without it for that reason. The convenience is not having to take it out of your pocket/bag etc.
 
Ah.. I have my button I'm the strap in the driver's fold down sunblind... that's always been enough for me, but would have liked rhe button integrated from Audi.
