Hey all,

I had a "EOI" thread a few months back but decided to hold onto it for a while. However, it is definitely now time to sell!

I'll let the carsales advert speak for itself...

2005 BMW M5 E60 Manual Auto-clutch - H Pattern

$62,500. Price is always negotiable but I'm not desperate.

Always loved these... V10
Sound is almost Porker GT like with a proper tuned exhaust.

Looks nice!

Though... is it really that expensive to service them?
- SMG hydraulic unit/pump - $9.3k locally for the part (July, 2013)
- SMG clutch/flywheel - $6k locally for the parts alone (August, 2012)

well, the SMG hydraulic unit isn't a "service" item. more like a break/fix item... think of it as a tooth in your gearbox breaking.

however, the clutch/flywheel is a wear/tear item. but you can source them for a lot cheaper overseas. BMW Australia inflates all parts prices by at least 300%. so i ended up sourcing it for a little over $3k which isn't that much different from any other manual car when getting a HD clutch/fw.

This is so nice!! Owning this will awesome but chances of things breaking and costing me $$$$ are quite high as well :(

actually, the chances of things breaking are slim... as in my description, the main expensive component that breaks i've already fixed recently. the rest isn't far different than owning any other performance vehicle.

sure was!! that's been through another two owners since me... a friend spotted it still cruising around adelaide looking a little worse for wear.
