Hope some one can help.
Daughter had trouble coming home in her 2009 A4 B8 2.7 tdi sedan.
It's been very nice up to now.
I found Glow light flashing and car in limp mode. Had car towed to my mechanic who could not fix it.
He is old school and does not like to get his hands dirty at his age. lol nor do I.
Any how got it home and went through all the sensors and got it scanned.
Engine turns over will not start but feel as though it wants to.
Can hear fuel pump running glow light still flashing one code only that is Glow Plugs. no other codes.
My mechanic thought it had no fuel, gauge shows half tank but we put some in anyhow.
Thinking it could be blocked DPF as car lost power and did stop even engine would start and idle a bit before stopping again.
Anyhow current state. Turns over, can hear fuel pump which seems to run a long time. No other codes other than glow plugs and unable to clear that code.
I have it booked in but 4 weeks wait
Any Ideas?
DPF Blocked, recent ERG clean and MAP sensor cleaned.
Fuel Filter Blocked? Pump seems to run to long on IGN on.
IDK.
Thanks in advance.

I am amazed that there does not seem to be a code for Fuel Rail pressure'
Could be that all other codes were cleared I guess.
No one around me likes working on European cars, Country area and not many running here.
Does removing the Battery for extended recharging, clear any codes as in some other cars.
The Fords I had over the years, that was a fix to clear codes.

No, I don't think removign battery for extended period 'wipes' error I think they are in eprom??

What scanner are you using, you might need a decent one like VCDS/ODIS etc to get to the 'real' problem.

Thanks for the reply

I was using Autel Mk906

RACV Tech assistance.

I will replace the Fuel filter as a removal of that as a problem.

Never heard of one being so blocked that it completely prevents fuel flow.

Always a first I guess.

I am still at it lol
Received my new fuel filter today and removed the cover for a look.
Now I am confused as to the LP Fuel Pump.
Is the Pump in line and not in the Tank as shown on all the websites I looked at for information.
I am guessing it is. Also love to know what the gadget is in the fuel line one In two out black valve?
Any being the noise bugger I am I love to know. That will let me show my machinic friend the know-all I am.
Don't have a hoist foe either the car or for me to get up, lol.
Hoping it is the filter and not more serious.

Learning so much.
Yes DPF was blocked. Cleaned it out with can shit made a mess, lol
Got it running fairly good without the waste gate connected.
Turns out the waste gate control module is faulty so can't clear all the codes and do a forced DPF regeneration. Tied the control arm in happy position.
Now to try and repair the Module. Has anyone fixed one?
Why the need for all this electronic stuff when old stuff worked fine.

the 'inline'rhing is probably a filter (?). im guessing the LPFP will be in the tank, something has to pull the fuel out at a decent rate.

Thanks, the LPFP is inline before the filter.
Cleaned the DPF and got it running.
The real issue is the Turbocharger Waste Gate Electronic controller.
I have experience in electronics so will pull it apart if It will let me.
I hope it is only a dry joint or something simple. My eyesight might be an issue.
It is worth fixing, still a very nice car.

Hi again.
Problem resolved.
I removed the Actuator electronic control module and opened it up.
Checked the circuit board and all the connections, cleaned all the contacts.
The mechanical bits all looked good.
Reinstalled and tested with meter and all good. Connected all up.
I did make sure the flapper valve moved freely and lube the shaft and fittings.
Checked the codes and cleared them.
Started the car and did final checks, all good and no codes.
Runs like new again.
Thanks for all your help.
