New SQ5 (late 2025) and still unable to sign in to use MMI

I bought a new SQ5 from Audi Artarmon in October 2025 and still cannot sign in on the car, nor use the car's MMI. The dealer has been completely unhelpful and disinterested and sales staff told me to "just use Apple Car Play". I took it to their Audi service centre and it spent several days there getting some control module replaced by a donor car, but it was unchanged in terms of MMI. They said Audi Germany would dial in to fix the issues but nothing happened and they stopped returning my messages that nothing happened if Germany did actually dial in. I still get a red light and warning message that car has no emergency services available. I was also told my roadside assistance license has expired! I virtually have to reset everything every time I drive it, e.g. Drive Select will not stay on Efficiency.
I had a formal case raised with Audi Australia, yet still no action has been taken. A week later I asked what was happening and the Audi Customer Experience Ambassador replied: "I have forwarded your details to the relevant department for their review. Unfortunately, I am not directly involved in their process and am therefore unable to provide an indication of when the matter will be actioned. I appreciate that this may be frustrating, and I appreciate your understanding in the meantime." I have heard nothing since in almost a month.
I had an S5 before this car that was looked after by Audi Five Dock and I had no problems with that car at all. Should I take it in to them?
Does anyone have any advice? It is a beautiful car to drive, but I have been reluctant to do so because of these problems so in six months I think I have only done just less than 1,000km.
Thanks in advance.

Have you successfully logged into the MyAudi app on your phone? It could be worth a try if you haven’t.

Once logged in, I think you can then scan a QR code that displays on the MMI (at least my 2024 RS4 lets me do this).

I have found that once they are connected together I have few, if any issues with it.

I forgot to put that in. Yes, I can login to the MyAudi app and it tells me I need to complete the login on my car by adding a user and scanning a QR code (on the car's MMI), but I do not get a QR code, nor does it ask me for my Audi login details (email and password). It just asks for a name, i.e. another guest user.

Maybe you could try adding the car again from the MyAudi app.

In the app, go to your profile, then select My Garage. There are a few options to manage/add/delete a vehicle.

Caveat - I have only ever deleted a vehicle that I sold, not my current vehicle, so I’m not really sure what might happen if you delete and try to add it back.

OK, I may try that. I think I did delete my old S5 when I traded it in. I think the dealer told me they had to add my SQ5 though.

Hi Malboo - I had a similar issue with my FY Q5 (2024) when purchased and I was lucky enough to have someone at the Audi dealership that actually knew what they were doing, anyway, I noticed that you you grabbed one in 2025 so it may have been the GU (the new platform) although there were some FY platforms still available, anyway, in my case, the dealer had to add my details in Audi's portal so when I went to add my details it then sent me a mTAN (mobile transaction authentication number) code to associate me with the Q5 and once verified, bingo, and has been working ever since. This definitely tells me that dealer intervention is required.
If you have the new GU platform it may be totally different, in any case, I hope that helps. :)

Thanks for that. Maybe I can try that with my old dealer in Five Dock as the Artarmon people seem to have no idea at all. It is a late 2025 model so probably the newer model, but I don't know what "GU" means. My car's details sem to have been added by the Artarmon dealer and appear on the MyAudi app, but I cannot sign in to the car at all from that app. Why don't the Audi dealers do all of this when they set you up with the new car? In my case the sales people seemed to understand nothing about the car's new software and its connection to the app.

Second generation Q5 (Type FY; 2016-2024) and Third Generation Q5 (Type GU; 2025). If your steering wheel has a flat top and a flat bottom it's the GU platform which it sounds like. I would be trying another dealer as I am aware that the early A5/Q5 GU platforms had heaps of software issues and there is supposed to be a fix late Q2 or early Q3 2026...just googling 'Audi 2025 sq5 software issues' will confirm and this is really not unusual for a new platform, it will get sorted...eventually. Sales people are really just sales people so don't expect a lot of help and/or knowledge, pretty frustrating I know but keep on hassling another dealer or the dealer you purchased it from and it will eventually work out and don't worry as they will be well aware of the these issues(s) but they will never admit it :)

Thanks very much for that. Very reassuring and yes it has the flat bottom & top and the new curved screen for the MMI. I had a lovely S5 for 5-6 years that never gave me any problems, so hopefully this SQ5 will eventually work out for me too.

I hear what you are saying, I also have a 2019 S5 Sportback [F5 series] that was purchased new and I was debating if I should upgrade but ended up changing my mind as it's very different to the current platforms and it's still one hell of a good drive! :)
