Petrol leaking into Oil (2017 S5 B9).

At the 2 most recent services, they drained 8.0 ltrs of "oil" even though only 7.3 ltrs had previously been put in. It smelled of petrol, so they've sent off a sample for testing. How does one diagnose the various possible causes of this? How costly are the fix(es) likely to be? (It was a private mechanic - Elden's Autobahn, hope island, qld).

I have a stage-1 tune, but that's been there for years (put in by Elden's) previously with no issues. Is this problem just as likely to have happened if the stage-1 tune hadn't been done?

TIA.

It could be a simple as a leaking High Pressure fuel pump, or injectors, or a bad PCV, or worse, something wrong with piston rings.

Get them to do a full scan first and check for issues is always a good start.
