Recall notice on the oil strainer issue impacting 2012 - 2017 A7, S7, RS7s

I've stumbled across the below recall notice for Australian customers.

https://www.vehiclerecalls.gov.au/recalls/rec-005488

NB: if you claim this, might be worth checking engine mounts, timing chain and the other engine out items.

USA customers go this recall last year so it's overdue.

For the folks that have proactively addressed the oil strainer, I understand Audi Australia will review your case for compensation.

Aussie owners got recall letters too - I got a letter for both my C7.5 RS6 and C7 S6 last year.

It’s not an engine out job but quite a few bits do need to be removed to get to the oil strainer. It’s in very close proximity to the PCV so that’s absolutely a job that could be considered at the same time.

There are quiet a lot of people getting this done on rs246.com as well, with various stories of what else you should do at the same time.

Never heard of the rs246.com group - the numbers of forums is already a bit unwieldy!

Alister, my engine out point was off a VAG Technic video (which admittedly I can't find the precise one now) but how do you know about this stuff in the level of detail you have?
