Happy to "suck eggs" if and when ever needed! No one knows everything and more than happy for honest advice. I'm with Shannons and have modified insurance. (Even though not really modified yet) I have previously had spacers on other cars and had no issues as long as spacers meet ISO requirements. That said, I will check and let you know. Thanks for the heads up!Glad you're happy with your new RS3, we have an RSQ3 which is good for us.
Without telling you, or anyone else, "how to suck eggs", have you checked with your insurer to make sure that they are OK with spacers being fitted to your car.
Best to make sure, because I'm not sure whether they're legal in Aus, & in which case, in the event of an accident, they may be an issue.
Regards, Pickles.
I remember buying my first WRX back in 1996 for $45k when i was 23. My nephew bought one 4 years ago for the same price . Cars (and realistically almost everything) tend to go through price hikes dependant on the economy. (Sh%t I sound old!!)No offence guys, but is this car worth a 2 yr wait time and the premium price you need to pay to secure one? it’s almost 50% more than what I paid for my new 8V MY16 which I received in a week
Just spoke with Shannons around Spacers. No issue under my modified policy. They even knew how wide they would insure too. I quoted 12.5mm front, 15mm rear and was told that's the limit for guard coverage on the 8Y.i don't think any sort of wheel spaces is legal and deemed to be roadworthy.
With all insurance companies, it all comes down to your Duty of Disclosure obligations.
if you disclose to insurer and they are fine then sweet.
However, if u don't disclose to them and you're in an accident, even if the spacers did not contribute to the accident, the insurer has every right to decline their claim by quoting your disclosure obligations. they can say if you had disclosed them to us at the time of quoting, it would've triggered an automatic declinature for us.
You can always chance your luck as I'm sure many ppl had claims paid and insurer had no idea they had spacers installed.
Starting to see some used 2022 models advertised at $100k.. Bargain !Ideally I’d like to upgrade to a 8Y. But i feel the 8Y is priced way too high, and no longer represents what an RS3 was originally intended to be, which is a relatively affordable RS model. But i guess same can be said about the pricing on a lot of cars these days, Golf GTIs and Rs etc
I can imagine.. What specs?About to receive ours too next week so super excited! Ended up taking an interstate cancelled order since there was no ETA locally. Market does seem to have slowed down, can see 1x Sportback and 1x sedan in stock on the Audi website at Ballarat and Berwick for those interested and don’t want to wait…
PerthYou in Perth / WA mate or elsewhere out of interest?

I have a Vin number now at least but still no "firm" ETA of delivery - advised mid 2024.Perth
I would like to see your car in the flesh, I live in Prestons. WayneOrdered 1st week in April 22 so final wait time of 18 months and 2 weeks (Quicker than i expected) Not sure how that works..? I know a few people still waiting who ordered late 2021.
I had it lowered at Pacortech in Ingleburn. Dave is a VW and Audi specialist. Also now has the Glosslab located at the back of his new shop so had PPF/Ceramic and tint completed at the same time.
Looking at springs Eibach and H&R seem to get the best raps for the 8Y. I went with Eibach's. They quote 20mm drop but it's around 25mm. Not ridiculous, but guard sits nice over the tyre.
Spacer's are Mode (Aluminium with extended nuts). Went with the consensus on these 12.5mm front, 15mm rear.
These two mods give the car a much more aggressive stance. Only draw back is the flick from the tyres is more noticeable on the side of the car.
Cheers.
Should be able to arrange that. I'm North of Wollongong. Cheers, Nick.I would like to see your car in the flesh, I live in Prestons. Wayne

Current prices for in stock RS3With statements on this forum regarding price increases for RS3, I was wondering if anyone has any idea as to what "driveaway" prices are being quoted paid, these days?
