RS3 diverter valve

I ordered a cold air intake from ECS for a 8Y
The diverter value is completely different to the instructions and on line. Is it the difference between the euro or North American car?

As you can see mine faces up the instructions have one facing towards the car

Any help appreciated

Not sure of your car, but has it already been modded, so the intake could be different?

no, i bought it brand new 8Y 2023. i can make it work with a silicone elbow and male to male push lock. I just wonder why my valve is different to the ones in north america.
 
strange... .might be different parts to do with drive line and/or emissions etc.
