Hi Guys,

I have just got copy's from Audi Australia of the Option $ and Specs for RS3 Sedan... getting confirmed vehicle $ this week, my contact says RRP on road is going to be about $98k... the RS3 Sedan has a lot of the current options as standard. Audi Aus will be taking and placing orders with factory this week for deliveries to start from July 2017.

Thanks for that, first time I've seen any official Aussie stuff.
However, apart from the engine, & of course the instrument panel, it appears to be mechanically identical to the current model, as far as I can see,..Packs etc are very similar, as are the wheel options.
And STILL, no news on Sportback?
Thanks for the info. Pickles.

I like it, I would get the PP2, black pack and roof, I wouldn't pay more than $85K though. I really don't think they are releasing a sports back in this FL. I think they will release a sedan and sports back once the new platform is released.

I'd say the differences are quite significant. Engine and instrument cluster alone are huge changes for any "update" but the styling is different, technology in terms of Audi connect, smart phone etc, along with matrix LEDS, and of course a Sedan body over a Sportback.

It would be interesting to see if this will be included in the EOFY sales and if it comes in at around $85k - $90k drive away with a few options ticked, it would be a much better value proposition than the outgoing RS3 IMO (at current prices). I reckon I'll def trade my sportback RS3 for the depreciation factor alone.

im waiting on 2 dealers to come back to me with a price for the sedan, spp2 and the black out pack drive away. as soon as i get the price i will let you know.

The launch production spec is consistent with what I've heard. The second batch of cars can be fully customized.

im wondering, hoping that magnetic ride Is one of the limited spec items that can be added to these 3 fixed spec models

Well, the major difference for us, is the engine. 294KW would be very nice. If there had been a 294 KW Sportback on the horizon, we would've waited, but there still is no news on that, and as Wifey wanted a S.B, she decided to make the move from her S3 whilst she could still get one, and boy, is she glad she did.
But there would always be the possibility that if a 294KW sportback was released, she may go for it,...don't know for sure, because she's super happy with what she's got. When the Sedan is released, she won't buy one, but she'll certainly be down to the Dealer to drive one!
Wados,....waiting on your info!
270KW or 294KW, whatever, I reckon the RS3 is one of the most under recognized/appreciated cars on the Aussie market,..I don't think many realize what a great car, or how fast, it is?
Pickles.

Did they give you any indication of time? My dealer (Perth) said they will have RRP$ for the car by the end of this week.

Apparently the only options that can be added to the launch spec are...Privacy glass and Matrix lights.

So, went into my dealership today on a fact finding mission/timeframe for orders.

The launch allocation of cars is commencing build in week 10/2017. So March the 3rd is build commence. The Launch units will be built from Week 10 to week 14. As of week 15, the order books are open. The Launch units are expected to arrive late Q2, so June.

There is no mention in the dealer briefing about a sportback with this generation, and the dealer basically said don't hold your breath. If it is to come, it won't be until early to mid 2018 at my guess.

For any non launch build, I was advised July/August this year for delivery, maybe sooner if the colour and options are fairly standard.

Manufacturer List Price incl. LCT is $84900, so use that as a guide when adding options and pretty much add $8k-$10k for dealer delivery, LCT, stamp duty and rego. This should give a good indication of pricing with options from the list.

That's pretty much it, but I'm sure I've forgotten something. If anyone has heard any different, fill us in.

Pretty much exactly the info I have as well. There are 3 launch specs and after choosing your colour, you can only add Privacy Glass and/or Audi Pre Sense. If you want anything else, you have to wait for books to open (BW15).

It's a shame because one of the 3 launch specs are almost perfect for me, I just really want to have mag ride.

Thanks liamvj for that info.
As Wifey wanted Sportback, it appears that she definitely made the right decision to get the current model.

Me too.. I was in contact with my dealer and wanted to clarify what options could be added as one of the specs suits me fine also. Matrix LED is a nice to have but Mag ride is a must for me... I've already got a deposit down but it looks like I'll be waiting till the second batch to get what I really want.

Have you talked about the price with dealer? How much discount do you think you can get? Thanks.
