RS3 Sport Back- Aus Option Pricing and Spec Sheet

That is an insane price, Magician!! We here in VIC get slugged with additional luxury stamp duty, thanks to the Victorian government. That's significantly cheaper than most were paying just before the RS3 went on production stop.
Yep, as I said I was really happy with that price. Other dealers were hard pushed to get to mid 90's whereas the sales guy I went through made it easy from day 1. I was actually close to buying a RS3 through the dealership previously but my S3 was only 12 months old at the time. I thought I would wait a little longer, see what a new model had feature wise and then the whole stop production thing happened and screwed me over like alot of others.

Did you go through a broker or just direct with the dealership? I'm still a little surprised at that price. My dealership were faced with a $96.5K price proposition and still knocked me back.

I contacted pricemycar just to see if they could get me a better deal, but I was told they couldn’t find other dealerships to match my final offer. I supposed it is a custom order which makes it harder to search alternative for better deals.

@Magician, you got the deal of the century! Congrats!

I went direct to the dealers. Price was more of a one off mainly because of my previous purchase and the fact I was talked out of upgrading earlier and then the whole delay with ordering any RS3’s. Not sure they would be doing to many others at that price. I consider myself a lucky guy in this instance ;)

OK, I kinda feel better now. I had a fear I had been fleeced, but I can understand your previous situation had some influence in the price you were given. As much as I have exclusive colour and VIC's added luxury stamp duty, my car ended up $7K more than yours.

There are still a number of dealer built cars available at pretty impressive pricing if anyone is interested. Makes the second hand market of these cars look expensive. Picked up a Mythos Black Carbon sedan should get it in two weeks provided mirrors arrive. This particular dealer had 1 more Mythos sedan, a nardo and glacier white sportsback.

Define pretty impressive pricing, mate.

That is impressive. Is this here in VIC?

Coronavirus has certainly assisted those in a position to buy a car. Dealers are doing some pretty crazy pricing and finance numbers at the moment.

I was not planning on buying new but for the price difference couldn't justify the second hand market pricing. I didn't enquire about finance as I was planning of funding it with cash but if the monthly figure is cheap money it might be worth it. what are people seeing as monthly repayments and balloon? rates mean nothing I'm interested in the monthly figure this is the only comparison worth noting.

and yes this is in Victoria.

monthly figure means nothing unless you know how much is being financed. Prices I reckon have dropped $5K or so with the advent of CV19. Late last year many weren't prepared to discount much at all. Now it seems there is a serious deal to be had.

Very true on the monthly figure.

Its always the early adopters that pay through the nose on a car release, the tail end purchasers always benefit from this. I have been oan early adopter too many times, nice to get a small win once in a while. What will be annoying is if Audi does an EOFY bonus like pay for on roads or GST if you buy a car before the EOFY. That will hurt, I guess we will find out in 21 days.

Well, by definition we're all late adopters with a 2020 model. If CV-19 didn't happen, they'd be still at mid to late 90's, and the rates would be well higher. I don't mind the price I paid, considering I paid for exclusive paint as well. The rates are getting pretty silly low though.

if you dont mind me asking what does audi charge for exclusive paint? I assume this is where the paint colour isnt part of their normal paint range and you pay a premium for the privilege? I once considered this but couldnt stomach the cost to select a different shade of white (I dont know what i was thinking at the time).........

Audi Exclusive paint is a $3600 option, which is not only pretty cheap, considering, but I don't know why more people don't go that way. Who wants to drive an exclusive model that's white, grey, black or blue like the rest of the mob?? Considering Mercedes charge up to $20K for some of their colours, my Dark Red Mica is a snip. Landing in 3 days!!

Thats cheap based on what other car companies charge for special colour, I was quoted 15K for paint to sample by Porsche, pretty insane. Congrats on being different will be interesting seeing your car on the road will definitely be easy to spot ;) You should be in it by end of month.

Now for a quirky question does the RS3 still have a switchblade key fob? Something that was around in the 90s? Surely it has moved along.........

Thanks mate. I hope I wasn't coming across as an arse, just cos I went exclusive. I just prefer to drive something a little different. Each to their own. I hope I'm in it by month end. As far as the key fob, nope. Still the same, but ya know, I don't get all the hate. I barely take it out of my pocket, or if I do, it just gets thrown into the drink holder and forgotten. It gets barely noticed. All these new key fobs with gloss black that just gets all scratched up and scuffed when dropped. I couldn't care less what it looks like.

Where in SE Melbourne are you mate?

All good. No offence taken been around forums way too long to take offence. Also going exclusive is an indulgence and not an arse 😋. I'm just bemused that the key hasn't changed since I first had a C5 A6. The last time I had an Audi was back in 2009 when we had a C6 A6 TDI 3.0 written off on the Calder Hwy. So quite familiar with the old fob design and no different to my VF Commodore fob. Good luck with it all and drive it in good health.

I'm in Brighton.
