S3 8L Armrest Stuck - Fix

My armrest was stuck in the upright position. Watched this helpful video:
S3 8L Armrest Stuck - Fix
11:15 minute in the video shows the screws that I removed. I didn't dismantle the armrest entirely, like in the video.

I found that ONLY the fur covered 4 screws (T8) inside the bin at the front the front of the armrest needed to be removed.
My Fix: The plastic push bar needed to be repositioned in front of the bent metal push bars for the armrest release mechanism to work properly.
I didn't need to bend the metal ends at all, as shown earlier in the video.
Also, I didn't know how to remove the entire armrest from the mount. It lifts up after loosening the 5 mm cap screw (pictured).
NB: The cap screw doesn't need to be removed entirely, as it has a forked cam interacting with a spiggot. Access the 5mm cap screw via removing the rear ashtray.
I'll add some more photographs to assist.

nice one. I'm going to have to tackle the one in my 8p as its starting to rattle.

I miss my Kingfisher Blue 2010 A3 8P 1.8tfsi EA888 CDAA with 6 speed manual Sportwagon, even though it had atrociously high oil consumption, due to the badly designed piston rings. I was in the process of an official Audi stage 1 oil consumption test, when the car was declared total loss from a hail storm in Canberra on 20 January 2020. 1000000948.png
