Scenic Rim Drive

We went out for a Sunday drive to see if we could find some RS4 type roads

headed down south through the Currumbin Valley to Chillingham

then through Uki to Nimbin across the mountain

to The Channon and on to Bangalow for lunch

Great countryside, all lush and green and a mixture of rich pastures and steep wooded hillsides with Mt Warning often within view

got to say the roads weren't great but we had a lovely day

We drove thru Nimbin (haven't been ther for 20 years) and it was market day so everyone was out in their finest

Mon said she wouldn't feel comfortable walking around but I told here that was never going to happen cause I was never going to park the car there (i'd washed it on Saturday and it stood out like a sore thumb!)

got to drive the car through some great mountain roads and really appreciate how well put together they are - and just love the sound going up through the rainforest (not very green of me I know but we did turn the lights off for Earth hour)

worth a drive one day if you are interested

about 3 and half hours drive from Brissy to Bangalow (240km) & a bit under 2 hours on the way back up the highway in the Sunday traffic

We had a similar Idea down south.

We headed from Melbourne Saturday 7:30
Over Mount Hotham
Lunch in Bright
Over Thredbo
Arriving 6:30pm in Jindabyne
We covered close to 800k's on some of the best "winding" roads.

Sunday saw us head back on a shorter route still 500k's arriving back home at 7:00pm.

Say some Great Snowy Mountains roads, not much scenery thought :big_wink:

I got lots of great video footage, sadly not to be posted on UTube (for obvious reasons).

Nigel

that sounds like a much better outing, grew up in southern NSW and have skied in Vic so know some of those roads - jealous!

cant imagine why you wouldn't put the footage on a public medium like youtube!

Graze - Simple answer - Footage has speed printed on it so on the odd occasion we may have got a little excited (unintentionally of course).

I was just reviewing some footage, Car sounds great I will try and clip some footage and post.

Sorry Nigel

i was being sarcastic because I could not imagine that car of yours doing more than 100k/hr

there I go again - sarcasm - lowest form of wit apparently and doesn't translate very well across the interwebs

would love to hear the file

Graze - Don't worry I got the sarcasm.

Here is a short clip in a valley, the echo was great. The video does not do it justice.
