Hey Guys,
Just wanted let people know to beware of the existance of at least 2 unmarked police cars in the form of gun metal grey VW GTIs! :swear:
I know one is that colour and am pretty sure the other one is the same or white.

I've already had one try and get me to race him on the M1 as he went past me at like 200kms/h. These cars are modified and fast so be careful!

It's great to see that the government is spending more and more on expensive and under-handed tactics used to capture people for speeding.
Kinda funny when they go on about safety being their concern isn't it?
When was the last time you saw them checking road worthyness of vehicles on our roads..?

Just some of the cars in use in south east queensland include,

Black Chrysler 300C
Grey Mitsubishi EVO 10
Yellow Mazda RX8
Grey VW GTI
Black Holden SS and HSV utes one has an Orion sticker on the back window.
Acid Green VY Maloo
Various Toyota Aurions including TRD models
Ford XR6 s
Ford Typhoon s
White Subaru WRX
Orange Ford G6E Turbo (got me)
Black Holden GTS
Sky Blue Holden GTS with personalised V8 supercar plates...

Anyone with anymore should add them to this thread just so people can know what to look out for. :big_wink:

I was pulled over on the way home yesterday afternoon by a policeman standing in front of a white Commodore. I thought he got me for speeding with a mobile radar gun. Instead it was for a breath test. I can't remember the last time I was tested in Bris... I thought it was a little weird at 4:00pm in the afternoon.

I have seen a couple of GTi's with police in them around Indooroopilly.

Seen the grey GTI's up Mt Glorious , they also have unmarked Yamaha R1's

You just can't tell anymore ...

bring back the good old days when they were all Holdens & Fords

errrr why is this under Events ???

So it seems these grey GTIs get around :thumbs_dn:
Or, Maybe there is more that we don't know about...

Yes, "hoons" have cost everyone dearly, along with insurance getting harder, crazy new rules for repeated traffic offences and tougher penaltys, the police have gotten so sick of being beaten and disappeared on etc, etc, they have really ramped up on the calibre of cars they want.

Thanks to all the try hard dicks that met at the broadwater car park and then left in groups of like 50+cars to race on the M1 on fri & sat nights. All whilst they were followed by unmarked police recconaissance vehicles and the footage shown to government, Today Tonight etc,. You Guys Rock:_b:

I don't mind if admin want to move this thread to General but I thought that kinda suits being in a queensland section

It's all you young jimmny cruckets by crikey no respect for the law by gee by gingo. My goodness me if you were in a dry gully you'd find out who was on the barbed wire fence you would and mark my words we'd find out who the alligaters are.:excited:
If you all had UR quattros you wouldn't need to go fast, just being there is enough. Those rexes and evos just creep by out of respect. They know there in the presence of the real thing.:moon:

haven't seen anything out of the ordinary down here in Adelaide. All undercover cars I've seen are Falcons or Commodores.

But then again we don't usually get 50+ cars having group races on the highway.

Instead the government here has decided road safety consists of
a) lowering speed limits instead of fixing poor roads
b) widespread use of fixed and mobile speed cameras
c) anything that can generate more revenue for them

there are roads out there that need huge maintenance. Main roads, in fact, and instead of maintaining them the government just drops the speed limit. It's absurd.

saw the GTI yesterday at indooroopilly he had a long hard stare at my cooler etc could have sworn he was gona try and defect me.

Few more QLD police cars...

orange lancer GSR TT
black hsv blown maloo (VP model)
sky blue 180sx ( going back a few years now)

similar cruise went from yatala to the GC...80+ cars all got done at the southport exit a few months back...nearly wet myself when my mate told me they had been filming them the whole way...

I saw a Black GTi on bruce highway earlier this year. There are also unmarked camrys and Aurions everywhere.

I just can't understand why police department spent money to buy those damn expensive cars to make people to race and fine them. I remember 3 years ago one of my mate was driving a MR2 on M1, a blue commdore SS went to sit on his tail, he didn't do anything, the commdore went passed him and CUT HIM OFF and then took off. He was so angry about it and start chasing the commodore, by the time he clocked over 160kph, the commodore turned on the light and he lost his licence.

He went to the court, spent $$$$ on lawyers but no one could help him.

Some of them are slow on everything expect when they are fining people. :thumbs_dn:

That's similar to what happened to me. :swear:police...
That's alright, saving up for Beltronics and Whisper technology now:clap:

I was breath tested by a guy & a girl cops on mountain bikes ( push ) on tuesday at 10.00am in East Bris... don't know the make and models of their bikes though ...not that I care ..:_b:

Aside from the ur (and much to Dougie's disgust), I also own a 99 WRX. I have had three speeding tickets in the past twenty-five years - one in the WRX mindlessly doing 90 in an 80 zone on the highway - and have never been pulled over by police for anything other than RBT in that time. Maybe I'm 'special' but I don't get what the problem is. I used to drive two of my rally cars to work and back in Brisbane and the one occasion I was pulled in to an RBT, the cops were genuinely interested in talking about the car and Queensland rallying in general.

When I was a teenager and living on the Sunshine Coast, they had unmarked cars too, including a Holden Sandman panel van WITH SURFBOARDS and an LC GTR Torana. That was the 70's. In the early 90's, a copper mate of mine drove an unmarked V6 Sonata and admitted to me that he'd egg on young hoons and then nail them. Unmarked cars (aside from the obvious Holdens and Fords) are nothing new and if you're silly enough to act like a dick on public roads, you deserve the inevitable ticket form the cops.

...or am I just getting old? I did lose my licence TWICE before I turned 19... for being a dick on public roads. Now I have little children of my own, idiots on the road really anger me and I'd like to see their cars crushed!

fair enough pick up the idiots doing stupid things one roads but dont go antagonising them into doing stupid things...its dangerous for other motorists and a stupid revenue raiser...

i've been very fortunate with police only had two run in's when i was younger and stupider...however my best mate who owned a 2008 VE SV6 with a few mods on it got pulled over 7 times in 2weeks just for a "licence check"...bear in mind he has never had a speeding fine or anything....explain that one to me.

I think the latter... --->:crutches: For many on the receiving end of police harassment I am sure they could safely say they wouldn't have driven "like a dick" if it weren't for the police provoking in the first place.

I know I can say that I was driving along normally with the other cars and was singled out recently by an unmarked turbo GF6 and followed/tailgated for about 15kms+ even after changing lanes about 20+ times on a 4 lane road..

I say BullS#*T!!

That may be so but since a few tough lessons as a teenager (loss of licence and damaged cars), I have kept the 'red mist' for rallies, hillclimbs and track time. I'm quite happy to just potter around on the public roads like the old fogie I am fast becoming.

Don't get me wrong I wasn't trying to say that the police shouldn't be writing tickets to people who is being silly on the road. But the thing is, the whole point of having "traffic police" on the road is to ensure the maximum road safety, not to provoke young people and make them to speed then give them ticket. This is just totally wrong.

I agree... they're becoming the very thing they supposedly hated.

What can be the reasoning behind this, if not blatant revenue raising?

And they know that we know, but they still push this party line that speed kills and speed cameras save lives.
