Steering error MY13 A5 2.0 TFSI Quattro

Hi, after a few weeks of random errors, car is immobile now, wont start due to steering computer failure. Understand these are configured to the VIN of the car. Has anyone successfully replaced one of these and reprogrammed to work?? trying to get out of this as cost effective as possible .

I'd ring one of your local independents and see if they can help. where are you located?

They may have component protection on the module that would have to be recoded on a swap out unit. some places can do it with their vcds or other software.

I have tried all around Brisbane and Goldcoast, all are pointing back to Audi. I saw one post somewhere (cant find it now) of someone who bought an ali express module and configured it. Happy to buy VCDS to do this, just need some to guide me thru the config

what about prestige and performance in Brisbane?
You could also try Harding performance, not sure if they can do, but might be able to suggest someone.

FWIW I have had a poor experience dealing with Harding Performance from an aftersales support perspective so I would recommend you trying someone else.

I havnt had any success with anyone wanting to look at it, car is locked in place no functions at all when the battery is connected. I have the control module out, anyone on the GC have VCDS, just want to read and confirm the codes before potentially sending it off for repair. can pay in Cash or beer for your time.
