"Suspension" of RS3 orders?

Pickles

When Wifey recently traded her PFL RS3 on a new RSQ3, we were told by our Dealer, upon delivery, that whilst existing orders (albeit with some delay, that we all knew about) should be OK, Audi would not accept any new orders after close of business on that day (31st Oct).
So, I was wondering if any forum members have had their plans "disrupted" by this development.
There are some demo or almost new cars on Carsales, and I've said before that the non availability of new stock should be good for values of good used RS3s.
This forum seems to have been a bit quiet of late, so maybe not many will see this post, but anyway, just wondering what some of you guys think with respect to, have your plans been affected, & what do you think will be the effect on new car pricing & used values, in view of what is now even more limited delivery scenario?
As far as our new RSQ3 is concerned, it is everything we hoped for. A bit more accessable, perhaps not quite as "sharp" in the handling & ride dept as the old car, but I guess that'd be expected. Of course we haven't had it long, but to date we are both very happy with it. But I never thought we'd own a car with 21" wheels, I go back to the time when our Morris 850 had 10" wheels, and Toranas/Commodores etc were 13", even the SLR5000 had 13" wheels, and the mighty A9X only came with 14"!
One thing I will say, is that, in the past, when we've bought a new car, I've always enjoyed reading the owner's manual, but not much interest from me this time, much of it is more like a "computer" manual, a bit foreign to me, but probably all good for you guys!
Happy motoring, Pickles.

If it is indeed the last RS3 with the 5 pot I can see the demand staying high. Regardless of its controversial looks, the new RS3 drives very well, the torque splitter really is a game changer. There are rumors of a facelift coming in 24/25 though, with a more subdued front. If this retains the 5 pot and has styling that appeals to a broader audience it will steal some of the current cars thunder.

Not sure on forum rules so I won't provide a link, but a google search for "2024 RS3 facelift" will quickly point you in the right direction.

The facelift will definitely have the 5 pot. I will be the first to put down a deposit if there are meaningful changes. That said I doubt there will be. A few cosmetic changes to a car that already looks amazing in the flesh is a strange decision. As is releasing a facelift when they have tons of people waiting on “gen 1” deliveries and now orders are frozen and some cancelled?!? All strange behaviour from Audi.
Say you can put a deposit down on a facelift in late 23. What’s the delivery timeframe? 2025?
As for the used prices, there are quite a few cars listed. Many have been listed for months. Anything over RRP and people are not serious sellers.

I've got an order for one, only placed a month ago. Although my dealer initially told me of a discussion that orders would cease, he is saying they haven't, as yet, received official confirmation.
I'd really like to get the car that i've built and knowing my luck, it'll be the last car before the face lift production begins.

I've been watching the cars on Carsales and a few have sold but many have not. I was seriously considering paying "A" premium for a landed car, but some are a bit over the top (good luck to the sellers though). In the end, I settled on an S3 that was already on a boat to last me until the RS arrives and if I take a bit of a hit on selling it in 2 years, well it will probably be less than some of the premiums being asked.

It may explain why Audi has suspended orders of the RS3. If current orders run till the end of 2024, then it would make sense to stop taking orders if a facelift is coming in 2025.

The dates are pure speculation on my part. Some people in the UK are saying 2027 delivery. I don’t think anyone knows at this point.
